The local movie theater opened up in 1938 under the name Colossus Cineplex, which, years later was shorted to simply Colossus.  The Colossus has two screens, and offers some of the finest new releases to  grace the screen last season.  In addition, the Colossus is famous for its theme nights:   Monster Movie Monday, Terrible film Tuesday, Wedding Chasers Wednesday, Thriller Thursday, Foreign film Friday, Showcase surprise Saturday and Slasher flick Sunday. 

Locals always remember fondly, the days when Colossus Cineplex was owned and operated by Harold Hawthwright. For 45 years, everyday, Harold would put on his make-up and costume of his horror host alter ego known only as Zombie Bob.  And every night, for 45 years, Zombie Bob snuck around the theater, and loved to “pop-up” and shock unsuspecting patrons. 

They did their best to cater to a wide clientele, and for years back in those seats, recently… …well, not so much.   Changing viewing habits, and greater diversity at the 18 screen mega-plex have contributed to twiddling ticket sales.  However, the owners still turn on their lights every afternoon for their matinee showings, and press onwards in the increasingly challenging market.  They are, and always will be a landmark harkening to the earlier days of our fair city.

In this project you will find the images and instructions needed to construct the 16 by 16 inch movie theater out of 5 mm thick foamcore (non included).  All our projects are designed with gaming inside your terrain as first priority.  And like all other Stoelzel’s Structures projects, our units come fully furnished you will find pages of furniture and decorations needed to set up the interior of this two screen theater.  Even more, we’ve thrown in ground tiles to build an expansive parking lot around the theater.  Big enough to be its own skirmish board, or place alongside our existing and compatible line of ground tiles and buildings.
