Design your own Steel Bunker adventure maps with the Steel Bunker Map Tiles pack of art assets. This collection of art assets is designed to give you a simple and easy method of creating your own virtual tabletop adventure maps. Drop each map tile art asset onto a digital map canvas, one by one, block by block, to build up an industrial adventure map for your players to explore.

“Hidden in the deep dark forest is an ancient steel bunker from a long-forgotten war, the metal plates corroded and scratched with age. Do you dare to enter inside the structure and explore what secrets it hides?”

What is a Map Tile?

Map Tiles from Studio WyldFurr are art assets that depict an area of terrain from a birds-eye view, such as the floor of a cave, an area of grass, or an industrial building floor. Each map tile is a unique combination of photographic source material and hand-drawn artwork, rendered at a scale of three on-screen pixels to each real-world inch. Giving us a typical 5ft map grid square of 180 pixels.

Art Assets - Raw Image Files Edition

This edition of the Steel Bunker Map Tiles pack is designed for use by Game Masters who love building their own adventure maps and want access to a toolbox of ready-made artistic material rather than the hassle of designing their own material from scratch. The package contains a wealth of raw image files in JPG, PNG, and WEBP file formats. These image files form the building blocks you can assemble into a dungeon, fortress, monster lair, or whatever kind of adventure map structure you desire.

Simply start with a blank digital canvas inside the graphics editing program of your choice (for example, Photoshop, Clip Studio Paint, Affinity Photo, or Gimp). Then start building the form of your adventure map by grabbing map tiles and plonking each onto the canvas, block by block, until you have filled in your adventure map. Once completed, export the map as a JPG or WEBP and then import the adventure map into the virtual tabletop roleplaying app of your choice (for example, Fantasy Grounds, FoundryVTT, Roll20, or D20Pro).

Using map tiles permits very granular control over the form of your adventure map chambers and passageways, rather than relying on pre-constructed rooms which you cannot change. Once the structure of the map is in place, add the final touches by dressing your map with furniture, props, and object tokens such as tables, chairs, statues, etc.

We have a range of tutorials and Livestream videos on the Studio WyldFurr Youtube Channel that can walk you through creating your own adventure maps with Map Tiles from Studio WyldFurr.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
